Behind the Scenes: The Making of Yakky Doodle for Our YouTube Channel

Yakky Doodle
is a made-for-TV cartoon that William Hanna and Joseph Barbera produced for their company, Hanna-Barbera. It ran from 1961 to 1962 as a segment under The Yogi Bear Show, with a total of 32 episodes airing in syndication. Each episode followed the ongoing adventures of duckling, Yakky Doodle with his bulldog pal, Chopper, who protects Yakky from the likes of Fibber Fox or Alfy Gator
.

When we started creating characters for our YouTube channel, Yakky, Chopper and Fibber were in the first lineup we did for modeling, Alfy was included in a later lineup, we made them as they were part of HB's history, I did all modeling work for the characters aside from Yakky's body.

The first Yakky story we produced for the channel, titled "Save That Duck," which wasn't written by me. I can't confirm if we still have the original storyboard. The plot followed Chopper saving Yakky from Fibber Fox. The second story, titled "The Blue Gator," which I also didn't write, involved Chopper saving Yakky from Alfy. In the final story, "Duck Fun," which I also didn't write, had Yakky going for a swim in a pond.

We are still in the process of writing more Yakky Doodle stories, as well as other Hanna-Barbera stories that you may see in the future. However, we haven't written a Yakky story in a while as of 2023, but I hope we can create more in the near future.
