Behind the Scenes: The Making of The Great Grape Ape Show for Our YouTube Channel

The Great Grape Ape Show

is a made-for-TV cartoon that William Hanna and Joseph Barbera produced for their company, Hanna-Barbera. It ran in 1975, with a total of 16 episodes airing on ABC. A 40-foot purple gorilla named Grape Ape, who has the mind of a child, and his pal Beegle Beagle, travel the country in Beegle's van, with Beegle coming up with a scheme to put them in the spotlight.

When we started creating characters for our YouTube channel, Grape Ape and Beegle were in a later lineup we did for modeling, we made them as they were part of HB's history, I did all modeling work for the characters.

The first Grape Ape story we produced for the channel, titled "An Interesting Gorilla Are We?," which was written by me. The plot followed Grape Ape and Beegle Beagle following a crook. The second story, titled "The Great Grape Up," which also was written by me, involved Grape Ape and Beegle Beagle going to the Olympics games. In the final story, "The Very Well Grape Tree," which again, was written by me, had Grape Ape and Beegle Beagle going to the park to relax.

We are still in the process of writing more Grape Ape stories, as well as other Hanna-Barbera stories that you may see in the future. However, we haven't written a Grape Ape story in a while as of 2023, but I hope we can create more in the near future.
